1. Who we are
skillswork (“skillswork”, “we”, “us”) runs the skillswork.pro platform from Kingston, Jamaica. skillswork connects people looking for services (“clients”) with independent professionals and businesses that offer them (“providers”).
This policy explains what personal information we collect when you use skillswork, how we use it, who we share it with, and the choices and rights you have. If you have any questions, contact us at hello@skillswork.pro.

3. How we use your information
We use your information to:
- create and manage your account and sign you in;
- show provider profiles, take bookings and orders, and pass booking details to the right provider;
- deliver messages between clients and providers;
- send you emails about your account, bookings, messages and, if you joined it, the waitlist;
- verify providers and keep the platform safe, including preventing fraud and misuse;
- understand how skillswork is used so we can fix problems and improve it; and
- meet our legal obligations and resolve disputes.
We use health information you add in My Care only to provide the My Care features you choose to use.
4. AI-assisted features
Providers can ask skillswork to suggest a reply to a client. When they do, the recent messages in that conversation, along with the provider’s name and type of service, are sent to Google’s Gemini AI service to write a draft. The provider reviews the draft and decides whether to send it. Google processes this information under its own terms for the Gemini service.
7. How long we keep information
We keep your information for as long as your account is open and as needed to provide skillswork to you. If you ask us to delete your account, we will delete or anonymise your personal information, except where we need to keep some of it to meet legal obligations, resolve disputes or enforce our agreements. Waitlist details are kept until we launch or until you ask us to remove them.
8. How we protect information
We use reasonable measures to protect your information, including encrypted (HTTPS) connections, storing passwords only as secure hashes, and limiting access to staff who need it. No system is completely secure, so please use a strong, unique password and tell us right away at hello@skillswork.pro if you think your account has been compromised.
9. Your rights
Under Jamaica’s Data Protection Act, 2020 and other laws that may apply to you, you can ask us to:
- give you a copy of the personal information we hold about you;
- correct information that is inaccurate or incomplete;
- delete your information, subject to the legal exceptions above;
- stop using your information for direct marketing; and
- stop processing that relies on your consent, by withdrawing that consent.
To make a request, email hello@skillswork.pro from the address on your account. We may need to confirm your identity before acting on it. If you are not satisfied with our response, you can complain to Jamaica’s Office of the Information Commissioner.
10. Children
You must be at least 18 years old to create a skillswork account. My Care lets adults add information about family members, including children. If you add someone else’s information, you confirm that you are allowed to do so, for example as their parent or guardian.
11. Where information is processed
Our hosting and service providers may store or process your information outside Jamaica. When that happens, we rely on those providers’ safeguards and agreements to protect it.
