Terms of Service

Last updated October 4, 2026

These terms explain how skillswork works, what we expect from clients and providers, and the rules that keep the platform fair and safe for everyone.

1. Agreeing to these terms

These terms apply to your use of skillswork.pro and its related services (“skillswork”), run by skillswork (“we”, “us”) from Kingston, Jamaica. By creating an account or using skillswork, you agree to these terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use skillswork.

2. What skillswork is

skillswork is a marketplace. It helps clients find, book and message independent professionals and businesses (“providers”), and gives providers tools to manage their bookings and business.

Providers are independent. They are not our employees or agents, and we do not perform the services they offer. When you book a provider, the agreement for that service is between you and the provider. We check provider information where we can, but we cannot guarantee the quality, safety or legality of any service, or that a provider is qualified, licensed or insured.

3. Your account

  • You must be at least 18 years old to create an account.
  • Give accurate information and keep it up to date.
  • Keep your password private. You are responsible for activity on your account, so tell us at hello@skillswork.pro right away if you think someone else has used it.
  • Do not create an account for someone else, or more than one account for yourself, without our permission.

4. Booking as a client

  • Bookings — a booking is a request to a provider. It is confirmed when the provider accepts it or when skillswork shows it as confirmed.
  • Payment — you pay the provider for their services as agreed with them. skillswork does not currently process payments for services or store card numbers.
  • Cancellations and changes — follow the provider’s cancellation policy. Contact the provider directly about changes.
  • Reviews — reviews must be honest and based on your own experience.

5. Offering services as a provider

If you offer services on skillswork, you agree to:

  • describe your services, prices and availability accurately and keep them up to date;
  • hold any licences, permits, certifications and insurance your services require, and provide verification documents when we ask;
  • perform services with reasonable care and skill, and honour the bookings you accept;
  • follow all laws that apply to your business, including tax, health and safety, and consumer protection laws; and
  • use clients’ personal information only to provide the services they booked.

We may review, refuse or remove a provider listing at our discretion.

6. Health and care services

skillswork does not give medical advice. My Care and related tools help you organise care, reminders and appointments. They do not replace advice from a qualified health professional. Health and care services booked through skillswork are provided by independent providers, who are responsible for them.

In an emergency, do not use skillswork. Call 119 for police, or 110 for fire and ambulance.

7. Messaging and AI-suggested replies

Use skillswork messaging only for conversations about services on skillswork. Providers can ask for an AI-suggested reply. Suggestions can be wrong or incomplete, so review and edit them before sending. You are responsible for every message you send, including ones based on a suggestion.

8. Acceptable use

When using skillswork, you must not:

  • break the law or help anyone else break it;
  • post false, misleading, defamatory, hateful or harassing content;
  • impersonate anyone or misrepresent your qualifications;
  • post fake reviews, or offer or accept rewards for reviews;
  • use skillswork to send spam or unsolicited advertising;
  • try to access accounts or data that are not yours, or interfere with how skillswork works; or
  • copy or collect data from skillswork using bots or scrapers without our written permission.

9. Content you post

You keep ownership of the content you post on skillswork, such as profiles, photos, reviews and posts. You give us a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free licence to host, display and share that content for the purpose of running and promoting skillswork. You confirm that you have the right to post it. We may remove content that breaks these terms.

10. Fees and paid plans

Some skillswork features may be offered as paid plans. If you choose one, we will show you the price and billing terms before you commit. We will give you notice before changing the price of a plan you already have.

11. Our intellectual property

skillswork, including its name, logo, design and software, belongs to us or our licensors. You may use skillswork only as these terms allow, and you may not copy, change or resell it without our written permission.

12. Disclaimers

We provide skillswork “as is” and “as available”. To the fullest extent the law allows, we make no promises that skillswork will always be available, error-free or secure, or about the services, content or conduct of any provider or other user.

13. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent the law allows, skillswork is not liable for any indirect or consequential loss, or for loss of profits, data or goodwill, arising from your use of skillswork or from services provided by providers. Our total liability to you for any claim relating to skillswork is limited to the greater of the fees you paid us in the 12 months before the claim and JMD 10,000.

Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law, or your rights as a consumer under Jamaican law.

14. Your responsibility for claims

You agree to cover skillswork for any claims, losses or costs (including reasonable legal fees) that arise from your breach of these terms, your content, or, if you are a provider, the services you provide.

15. Suspending or closing accounts

You can stop using skillswork and ask us to close your account at any time by emailing hello@skillswork.pro. We may suspend or close an account that breaks these terms or puts other users or skillswork at risk. Sections that by their nature should continue after an account is closed, such as disclaimers and limitation of liability, will continue to apply.

16. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of Jamaica. Any dispute will be handled by the courts of Jamaica, unless the law where you live gives you the right to bring a claim there.

17. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time. We will change the “Last updated” date above and, if the changes are significant, let you know by email or on the platform before they take effect. If you keep using skillswork after that, you accept the updated terms.
